Selecting a Winner

Winner 1 Like past years, after we narrowed the initial applicant field to three Finalists, we turned to a strong group of professionals to help determine the final winner. Our star judges panel was comprised of highly accomplished inside sales professionals as well as former Alumni of the Year winners (Julianne SweatTaylor Pierce and Sohale Razmjou). The star panel this year included five professional sales experts, leaders and educators:

  • Bob Perkins – Founder & Chairman, American Association for Inside Sales Professionals (AA-ISP)
  • Craig Rosenberg – Co-Founder & Chief Analyst, TOPO
  • Lauren Bailey – Founder & President, Factor 8
  • Mark Weber – Executive in Residence, The Catholic University of America
  • Ralph Barsi – Senior Director, Global Sales Development, ServiceNow

The memoryBlue Leadership Team, the staff and even an “at-large” popular vote also shaped the outcome to varying degrees. Each voting block has a unique perspective and potentially nuanced differences in judgment criteria.

Award Background & History

memoryBlue was founded in 2002. After over 16 years of work helping our technology-oriented partners achieve sensational revenue growth, hundreds of memoryBlue Alumni have elevated into roles with some of high-tech’s most recognizable names and hottest startups.

The memoryBlue Alumni of the Year Award recognizes individuals who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in their high-tech sales careers. The three past winners of this award each put together sensational performances in order to win the title. If they were professional athletes, we would call this their “career year” so to speak. All three remain closely connected to memoryBlue and we’re extremely proud of the way they continue to represent our unmistakable brand in the professional marketplace.

2017 Alumni of the Year Winner – Julianne Sweat

Winner 2In what was one of the best fields we could have ever dreamed of for the third annual competition, Julianne Sweat was named our 2017 memoryBlue Alumni of the Year. Julianne had a terrific 2016 professionally in her work as a Sales Development Manager at KiteDesk. The voting was tight and each of the three finalists had strong claims on the title, but in the end there could only be one winner. Julianne joins past winners Sohale Razmjou and Taylor Pierce as the three winners of our most prestigious Alumni honor.

Julianne Sweat was an absolute machine in 2016 – and it’s worth noting that she not only applied for the award herself, but was also nominated by her company’s CEO and CMO. Julianne led all reps in her company last year in terms of total revenue generated, total number of deals closed and new logos brought into the firm. She literally accounted for over 30% of her company’s work in each of those areas despite being on a team with 12 other sales pros. As a result of this amazing work, Julianne was elevated to the role of sales manager within the company.

2016 Alumni of the Year – Taylor Pierce

Taylor Pierce bested a field of 30 applicants and two amazing Finalists in 2016 to become the second winner of our annual Alumni of the Year award. The race was incredibly close, as all three finalists submitted sensational applications. We heard from numerous people on our judges panel commenting on just how hard the decision was — but in the end, Taylor took home the honor and earned the $5,000 dream vacation on us.

So where did Taylor go for this trip of a lifetime? We’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

2015 Alumni Of The Year

Sohale Razmjou

Director of Cyber Security Technologies

spacer_AotYAs the Senior Account Manager for immixGroup’s Oracle Team from 2009-2011, Sohale grew the firm’s Oracle federal sales by $45 Million.

Taking a hiatus from immixGroup to join the startup Spigit in 2011, Sohale served as the firm’s Director of Strategic Accounts. In this role, Sohale served as instrumental in scaling the startup, leading to Spigit’s eventual $22.5 Million acquisition in 2013. In his 2.5 years working full-time at Spigit, Sohale earned his Masters in Technology Management from Georgetown University (4.0 GPA) and was notably recognized as the Spigit Rookie of the Year.

After Spigit’s acquisition, Sohale rejoined immixGroup and now serves as their Director of Cyber Security Technologies. In this role, Sohale manages an approximate 40% of the firm’s business, equating to roughly $450 million as of April 2015.

It is an honor for me to be recognized by memoryBlue as the inaugural Alumni of the Year. The finalists of this award are very successful and to be chosen from this group is special.

And where did Sohale take his all-expenses-covered vacation after winning the inaugural title? This looks pretty relaxing….
