Alumni of the Year
The 2018 memoryBlue Alumni of the Year Competition is off and running!
We’re thrilled to be in the midst of the fourth annual memoryBlue Alumni of the Year program. This competition is our way of showing appreciation for the impact literally hundreds of memoryBlue alums are making in the high-tech industry.
The initial applications window has closed! The three finalists will be announced shortly.
As always, the winner of this competition will set sail on a $5,000 dream vacation on us while earning the prestige that comes with joining the select group of prior victors.
mB alums have contributed hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue to some of high-tech’s most recognizable names and some of the industry’s hottest emerging companies. This program spotlights the top talent originating from memoryBlue – their accomplishments and the good work of their current companies.
Last year, Julianne Sweat rose to the top and beat out a gigantic field to earn the award. She joined former winners Taylor Pierce (2016) and Sohale Razmjou (2015), and now we’re ready to find their next peer!
Selecting a Winner
Like past years, we have narrowed the initial applicant field to three finalists and will now be turning to a strong group of professionals to help determine the final winner. Our star judges panel will be comprised of highly accomplished inside sales professionals as well as former Alumni of the Year winners (Julianne Sweat, Taylor Pierce and Sohale Razmjou). The star panel will be announced soon, so stay tuned for more information.
The memoryBlue Leadership Team, the staff and even an “at-large” popular vote will also shape the outcome. Each voting block has a unique perspective and potentially nuanced differences in judgment criteria. So, be sure to leave nothing to chance as you build out your winning application and include all of the key details.
The 2018 Alumni of the Year Award winner will be officially unveiled during our Q3 State of the Elephant all-hands meeting on Friday, July 13, 2018.
The winning alum will be the toast of the firm during the Q3 Alumni Happy Hours that follow in VA, CA and TX. Ultimately, the winner will receive their full honors during a special awards ceremony to be held in the Fall of 2018.
Award Background & History
memoryBlue was founded in 2002. After over 16 years of work helping our technology-oriented partners achieve sensational revenue growth, hundreds of memoryBlue Alumni have elevated into roles with some of high-tech’s most recognizable names and hottest startups.
The memoryBlue Alumni of the Year Award recognizes individuals who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in their high-tech sales careers. The three past winners of this award each put together sensational performances in order to win the title. If they were professional athletes, we would call this their “career year” so to speak. All three remain closely connected to memoryBlue and we’re extremely proud of the way they continue to represent our unmistakable brand in the professional marketplace.
2017 Alumni of the Year Winner – Julianne Sweat
In what was one of the best fields we could have ever dreamed of for the third annual competition, Julianne Sweat was named our 2017 memoryBlue Alumni of the Year. Julianne had a terrific 2016 professionally in her work as a Sales Development Manager at KiteDesk. The voting was tight and each of the three finalists had strong claims on the title, but in the end there could only be one winner. Julianne joins past winners Sohale Razmjou and Taylor Pierce as the three winners of our most prestigious Alumni honor.
Julianne Sweat was an absolute machine in 2016 – and it’s worth noting that she not only applied for the award herself, but was also nominated by her company’s CEO and CMO. Julianne led all reps in her company last year in terms of total revenue generated, total number of deals closed and new logos brought into the firm. She literally accounted for over 30% of her company’s work in each of those areas despite being on a team with 12 other sales pros. As a result of this amazing work, Julianne was elevated to the role of sales manager within the company.

2016 Alumni of the Year – Taylor Pierce
Taylor Pierce bested a field of 30 applicants and two amazing Finalists in 2016 to become the second winner of our annual Alumni of the Year award. The race was incredibly close, as all three finalists submitted sensational applications. We heard from numerous people on our judges panel commenting on just how hard the decision was — but in the end, Taylor took home the honor and earned the $5,000 dream vacation on us.
So where did Taylor go for this trip of a lifetime? We’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!
If you’re interested in what Taylor’s 2015 year looked like which earned him the win, here you go:

2015 Alumni Of The Year – Sohale Razmjou
2015 kicked off our inaugural Alumni of the Year. With over 50 amazing applications received, the competition was fierce. In the end, our 2015 award winner was Sohale Razmjou – his accomplishments and incredible success in 2014 made him a clear choice for the prize.
And where did Sohale take his all-expenses-covered vacation after winning the inaugural title? This looks pretty relaxing….
